Why Mediation?

Mediation is a step-by-step process to help people discuss issues in an order that makes sense. It takes place at a neutral venue with the assistance of a trained and impartial third party.

The mediator helps you talk about all those things which need to be resolved on divorce and/or separation. Mediation improves communication and helps you plan for the future with less stress and conflict.

Mediation agreements can be flexible and may be amended if circumstances change. You remain in control - any agreements reached are made by you and your ex-partner, whereas in court a judge will make the decisions. A record of your progress is sent to you after each mediation session, and a record of any agreements reached is sent at the end of mediation.

Family mediation is a quicker, less stressful alternative to a long legal process and is far less costly.

A further benefit of mediating is that clients are empowered and to make their own decisions on things that affect their future.
